OK, so the last couple days have been pretty sweet! Yesterday I went sailboat racing with a friend and a few other skippers in Redwood City, and even though we started 3 minutes late, we were able to pull in at 4th place. We may have come in second if we started on time :). It was a blast. Water crashing into the boat, ropes flying everywhere, plus we got to fly the spinnaker for a while . I only messed up and got yelled at a few times. We sailed a J24 sailboat, which I think means it is made by company J and is 24 feet long. The sailing lingo is about impossible to understand.
I joined the Google corporate coed (read super low competition) softball league and we had our first game today. I messed up a couple times, but I was able to hit one home run. Our team (No Popups) won 19-3 against another company.
Tomorrow morning I'm driving to Weaverville, California, population 3554, to spend 4 days with relatives. The place is amazingly festive for its population. festivities include a 10k run, pancake breakfest, rodeo, car wrecking, food eating contest, fireworks, drinking:), arm wrestle competition, pig racing, live music... Should be exciting.
Hope everyone has a great Independence Day holiday, hopefully blowing some stuff up in the process.
Best,
Griff
